Phone-Free Space Starting August 2024
CATCH Prep will implement a phone-free zone beginning August 2024 to enhance teaching and learning through the Yondr program. This program has been successfully used in over 2,000 schools across 16 countries to create a more focused learning environment.
While we recognize the value of phones, research shows that student engagement and social behavior significantly improve when students are fully involved with their teachers and peers.
The Yondr Program employs a secure pouch to store phones. Each student will receive a personally assigned Yondr pouch to secure their phone upon arriving at school. Phones will remain in these pouches until the end of the school day. Students are responsible for bringing their Yondr pouch to and from school daily and must take care of it at all times.
Feedback from over 1,200 schools using the Yondr program shows:
84% noticed improved student engagement
72% observed positive changes in student behavior
68% saw enhancements in academic performance
Recent surveys from over 370 schools indicate:
86% reported positive impacts on student safety and wellness
