Greetings! My name is Pamala Valdiviez, and I serve as the School Counselor (M.Ed., PPS Credential) at CATCH Prep Charter High School. My primary responsibility is to foster the mental health and social-emotional well-being of our students. Any student may request to meet with me directly or may be referred by a teacher, administrator, or parent.

Services Provided by the School Counselor:
Crisis Intervention & Risk Assessments: Responding to mental health crises and conducting assessments to ensure student safety and well-being.
Individual Counseling: Providing short-term, goal-oriented counseling to help students navigate personal, academic, or emotional challenges.
Family & Parenting Support: Offering resources, guidance, and strategies to help families support their student's success and emotional health.
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Programs: Implementing programs and activities designed to foster emotional intelligence, resilience, and social skills.
School-Wide Mental Health Campaigns: Leading initiatives to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and promote mental wellness throughout the school community.
Collaboration with Educators & Administrators: Partnering with teachers, administrators, and other staff to address the academic, emotional, and social needs of students.
Case Management: Monitoring student progress, coordinating services, and providing ongoing support to ensure each student's success.
Referrals to Mental Health & Community Resources: Connecting students and families with external counseling services and community programs to provide additional support.
