CATCH Sociology has begun their second until into the study of culture. What is Culture? How does it manifest in our lives? Ask a CATCH Sociologist. This week sociology students have begun a reflective project where they think deeply about how they see culture in the home and out in community. Students will be photos from home to order to create a collage as a visual representation of their cultural heritage. We look forward to sharing our projects with you in the near future.
CATCH Historians. We live in historic times. Only twice in our nation's history has a president officially been impeached. Both times, they were acquitted. This week we saw the beginning of what could be articles of impeachment, accusing President Trump of leveraging his office for personal political gain. CATCH students know what's going on, and we are closely following this historic development.
CATCH Economists have begun their study into different macro-economic systems around the world. What is the difference between Traditional, Command, Market, and Mixed economies? What are the character traits and goals of each type? How do philosophies like communism, laissez-faire free market, and socialism fit into economic systems? CATCH Economists will be looking at a variety of different economic systems in the world today, and will be able to categorize, analyze, and discuss their differences, strengths, and weaknesses.
